What is the Aeromobile-Aeroduct System?

The Aeromobile-Aeroduct system (A-A System) is the future of ground transportation. It is a new automated and intelligent modality of transportation that is cheap, fast, frictionless, all-weather, elevated, automated, and low to zero polluting. Simple, inexpensive tube rights of way connect destinations. Travel in the tubes is done with special hovercraft vehicles that are completely automated. Due to the many advantages of the air cushioned vehicles that utilize Dr. Bertelsen's patented Gimbal Fans, complete automation of the vehicle's guidance is possible, and wear and tear on the tube rights of way is minimal. Any number of passengers and any amount of cargo can be carried by the vehicles (which can be scaled to any size).

The potential of the  A-A System extends from connecting two destinations (such as two buildings) a few thousand feet apart all the way to replacing much if not all of present-day wheeled transportation with completely weatherproof, automated, inexpensive and ecologically friendly transit. The grooved rights of way can be constructed to connect many destinations with each other, and the hovercraft vehicles can be programmed to reach any desired destination without any need by the passenger in the vehicle to know anything about the route.



 
What are the advantages of the Aeromobile-Aeroduct System?
1. Air cushion vehicles are far simpler and cheaper than wheeled vehicles of any kind.
2. The capital and the maintenance costs are far lower for both the vehicles and their Aeroduct rights-of-way, than for cars, trucks, or roads or rails.
3. The inherent amphibious character of the air cushion vehicle makes it operable in all weather, in all climates, from pole to pole.
4. There is no limit to the size of the Aeroduct rights-of-way or the hovercraft vehicles, or to the mass that can be carried on them.
5. The perfect guidance of the vehicles in the right-of -way allows automation, which no other ground modality can accomplish in all weather.
6. Aside from time saving in non-stop origin to destination travel, the cruise speed will be far greater in these elevated, wheeless air cushion vehicles than cars or trucks. There will be no speed limits.
7. The Aeromobile-Aeroduct System is ecologically green in that:
a. Automation of vehicles can evolve to automated parking, by returning the vehicle to its home parking place. Consider the ecological and economic benefit of elimination of square miles of parking lots everywhere.
b. The A-A System does not require a road bed that destroys the natural ecology by bulldozing hills, filling valleys, paving, and disruption of all surface ecosystems.
c. In the A-A System low to zero polluting fuels can be used. Electric power is feasible, nearly zero polluting when it is solar generated.
d. The vehicles are totally frictionless, have zero rolling friction which accrue in automobiles in the drive train, braking, and standby losses, up to 86% of the total energy spent .
e. In addition to all of the above, the thick air cushion will ultimately give us the smoothest possible ride, no potholes.
f. It is potentially the quietest of all means of ground transportation. Electric powered fans can be silenced like jet engines.



 
Why do we need the Aeromobile-Aeroduct System?
The condition of transportation in this country and every country is most unfortunate. The existing modalities of ground transportation - cars, trucks, railroads - are polluting, noisy, dangerous and incredibly congested. Gridlock is common in many cities, and  will only be increasing in the next century. There are millions of car and truck accidents a year in this country alone, with thousands of fatalities.

The A-A system is the transportation system of the 21st century. Only it can solve the transportation woes of every country. It is a global solution that has practical benefits for every individual. What transportation system can be better than one that has:

1. all-weather, amphibious operation,
2. absolute positive guidance, and therefore is amenable to total automation in all-weather on all surface conditions, without snow plowing, salting, cindering, etc.,
3. very inexpensive vehicles (only motor fans, airframe, and skirts),
4. cheap rights-of-way (thin sheet metal), which are inexpensively elevatable over existing roads and rails,
5. the first, mass producible ROWs (rights of way) sections - just as when cars became mass produced,  the original hand built roads were replaced by the current roadways, the ROW for the A-A System will become commonplace as it becomes mass produced,
6. great energy efficiency (zero rolling friction),
7. low to zero pollution,
8. the potential to eliminate all parking lots (since automation allows the Aeromobile to return to its one dedicated parking place at home),
9. eliminates paving, repaving, potholes, guard rails, street lighting, striping guide lines, all signs, and when elevated, all culverts, drainage ditches, encounters with pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, other wheel vehicles, or other roads or rails,
10. safety of automation beyond that possible by manually driven vehicles, and,
11. greater personal security.


Where is the Aeromobile-Aeroduct System Being Used?
A proof of concept prototype has been built and successfully demonstrated. This important event was recently  recorded for everyone to see in a television show produced by The Learning Channel. The documentary is called Extreme Machines Hovercraft, and shows as its last segment what the narrator calls "the future of hovercraft", namely the Aeromobile-Aeroduct System.
Aeromobile Inc. is open to any projects, of any size, in any location to implement the A-A System with all its advantages. You are welcome to contact us with suggestions or inquires. We would like a cooperative partner to go to the next step to build a "horizontal elevator" between two buildings, such as industrial buildings, offices, parking lots to airport gates, etc., to become the introductory utilization of this technology. All highway routes, roads, rails, at any length or range are possible sites of future Aeroduct superimposition. The far less complicated Aeromobile air cushion vehicles to negotiate them can be mass produced at a fraction of what automobiles now cost.
